Description:
We are currently seeking a Batch Plant Operator for our Hutto location.
The Ready Mix Batch Plant Operator is responsible for producing quality and consistent concrete. You will manage all aspects of the batch plant including inventories, scheduling, and paperwork. Concrete pours will be concurrent with maintenance and restocking inventories. Pours could be scheduled for any time or day. Off every other Saturday and all Sundays.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently batches product with the proper mix and water content, making any necessary raw material and moisture adjustments.
- Batching, inventory management, communicating need of raw material deliveries and occasional preventative maintenance
- Ensure efficiency of drivers through the batch plant
- Communicate with drivers during deliveries
- Create maps and provide directions for deliveries
- Complete end of day paperwork that is submitted to management
- Work effectively with external and internal customers
Desired Characteristics:
- Self motivated
- Experience batching on a Command-Alkon and or Jonel system a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Must have good mathematical skills
- Experience in the operation of a batch plant preferred
- Must have a mechanical aptitude of trucks and industrial equipment
- Concrete experience including slumps and hot and cold weather batch changes
- Knowledge of local streets and routes
- Excellent phone communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Intermediate computer experience
- Must have reliable transportation that will allow applicant to arrive on job during all weather conditions.
- Have ability to work long hours, weekends and all shifts (days/swings/graveyard)
- Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs.
