Camden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves 760 students in grades 9 – 12 from primarily six surrounding towns. The school offers an incredibly expansive array of educational experiences for students and is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high-quality, diverse staff.
Zenith is our off-site Alternative Education program that provides alternative learners with a creative, flexible, and individualized educational environment. We aim to develop within our students a strong sense of respect for self, others and community. These skills are fostered through experiential, community-based learning, student independence and responsibility, and the ongoing development of effective problem solving and group processing strategies. The Zenith team of three teachers (including the Coordinator) provide hands-on alternative educational experiences for their students and are constantly searching for innovative and effective strategies to meet academic as well as the social and emotional needs of students.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established and highly successful program. The coordinator’s responsibilities include a reduced teaching load, oversight, management, and leadership for the program. The Coordinator serves as the department head for the program, coordinating all operations with other members of the administrative team, counseling and special education.
The ideal candidate has experience working with at-risk students, strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Certification required in at least one content area (gr. 7-12): Math, Science, English, or Social Studies.
