Camden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves 750 students in grades 9 – 12 from primarily six surrounding towns. The school offers an incredibly expansive array of educational experiences for students and is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high-quality, diverse staff.
Camden Hills has a unique opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and experience in design thinking who likes working with students to coordinate our thriving innovation center called “The Hatchery”. Programming includes a fully outfitted MakerSpace, a “Commons” space that is still in development, an internal apprenticeship program, partnerships with local organizations, mentors guiding student innovation projects, and more. Most of the vision has been realized yet some is still waiting to be launched. In short, there is still room for the center to grow.
We are looking for a person with the right skills and attitude to help realize our vision for continuing to transform our school into a hub of innovation in our community. The possibilities for our students and our community are endless with a capable, innovation-minded person nurturing, leading, and supporting this vision. We are looking for a master tinkerer who is organized and can lead, an entrepreneur who is interested in bringing their ethos into an educational space to help students realize their dreams, or a highly skilled teacher with a set of practical skills and a pioneering spirit that is ready to step into a totally different role. This is not a teaching position. The Coordinator will mentor, guide, connect, and support student projects and oversee all components of the Hatchery. A bachelor’s degree is required for this 215-day contracted position.
