Grounds Maintenance Technician

FivePine Lodge sits nestled amongst the tall pines in Sisters, Oregon and features a small lodge, luxury cabins, a conference center, office space and spa. Our entire team is passionately devoted to the finest quality and service we can offer our guests and community. We are looking for someone who not only has the skills necessary to keep up with the demands of a AAA 4 Diamond property, but who is also in alignment with our philosophy and vision. 

Summary: The Grounds Tech is an essential member of our maintenance team, responsible for landscaping, snow removal, and general maintenance tasks that support the care of FivePine Lodge, campus, and surrounding grounds. This role includes on-the-job training for many aspects of the Maintenance Tech position, with opportunities for growth as the individual gains experience. Starting pay is $19.50 / hour and up, based on experience. We are looking for someone who has base knowledge, is self-directed, dependable, and eager to learn. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete all tasks as assigned in relation to the landscaping and care of the FivePine Lodge, campus and grounds:

• Landscaping/Grounds keeping
• Snow removal (Winter)
• Light to Medium Room Maintenance
• Splitting and Stacking Fire wood
• Water Feature Maintenance (Summer)
• Opportunity to learn variety of maintenance skills

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills)
Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered, and some on the job training may be available for the right candidate.

• Must have a valid Oregon Driver's License and reliable transportation year round.
• Must be willing to be available for communication via cell phone.
• Individuals in this position will encounter season temperature changes, both indoor and outdoor, and may work in extreme weather conditions.
• Individuals may be required to work in physically demanding or uncomfortable positions for extended periods while performing maintenance tasks. Additionally, there may be occasions where extended hours are necessary to complete critical maintenance activities
• Regular standing, bending, kneeling, stretching, reaching, squatting and lifting over 50lbs are to be expected for this role.
• One year landscaping experience preferred but not required.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old

Schedule

• This is a full-time position with three possible rotating shifts:
  • 6am-2:30pm (If called in for snow removal)
  • 9am-5:30 
  • 10am-6:30pm 
• Flexibility to work any shift time is essential
• 32( ) hour work week
• Shift time may rotate day to day, depending on employment needs.
• Weekend coverage and some holidays required.
• The schedule is created on a monthly basis and is typically available two weeks before the start of each month.
