What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Specialist Precision Units position at Fives Giddings & Lewis, LLC?
The job location is in Fond du Lac, WI and this position is responsible to perform assembly operations in building one or more types of precision unit assemblies, standard unit assemblies, and machine erection/teardown support. Some assemblies may include development or prototype units.
- Retrieve and study assembly instructions, detailed part prints, assembly layouts and parts lists.
- Gather parts/units, tools and/or material from inventory using a supplied material list.
- Prepare parts prior to assembly. This includes small sized unit assembly work.
- Follow detailed work instructions on order or assembly operations.
- Work with engineering/supervision to identify issues and formulate corrective actions to assure product quality
- Test precision units and validate quality specifications are achieved
- Assemble machines/units to current assembly procedures, layouts and parts lists.
- Practice proper measuring tool selection, usage, inspection and storage:
- Perform dimensional geometric checkouts of larger units or sub-assemblies on granite
- Perform proper machine foundation set-ups.
- Perform various installation or assembly work
- Disassemble, evaluate, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair assemblies.

Education/Certification:
- One year certificate from college or technical school and/or three to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
