Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing and restoring vehicles, performing body work, and ensuring high-quality repairs that meet safety standards. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, repairing vehicle bodies, and ensuring the work meets customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles for damage and assess repair needs, including body panels, frame, and alignment.
- Perform body repair and refinishing tasks, such as welding, straightening, and replacing damaged parts.
- Use hand and power tools to remove damaged sections, sand, and smooth surfaces, and prepare them for painting.
- Rebuild and replace auto body parts, including doors, fenders, and bumpers.
- Align and straighten vehicle frames and suspension systems.
- Apply paint and finishes to repaired areas, ensuring proper blending with existing vehicle color.
- Remove and replace damaged glass, mirrors, and trim as necessary.
- Complete detailed reports of repairs, including parts used, labor hours, and additional work required.
- Collaborate with service advisors, insurance adjusters, and other team members to meet customer expectations and timelines.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new repair technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an auto body technician or in a related role.
- Proficiency with auto body tools and equipment, including welders, frame machines, and sanders.
- Knowledge of vehicle structure, materials, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and repair manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a dusty or noisy environment.
