We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Part-Time Consulting Head Chef to lead our culinary team. This role is ideal for a passionate and creative individual who can bring their expertise to enhance our kitchen operations. As a Consulting Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of our culinary program, including weekly prep-list, shopping, quarterly menu planning, ensuring proper menu execution and plating, and contributing hands-on in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly Prep-List and Shopping:
- Develop and manage weekly prep-lists to ensure a smooth kitchen operation.
- Responsible for ingredient sourcing, quality checks, and timely shopping for fresh produce and culinary supplies.
Quarterly Menu Planning:
- Collaborate with the management team to create innovative and seasonally inspired menus.
- Conduct regular menu updates, considering customer feedback and culinary trends.
Menu Execution and Plating:
- Ensure the consistent execution of menu items to maintain high-quality standards.
- Oversee plating techniques to enhance visual appeal and maintain a memorable dining experience.
Hands-On Kitchen Work:
- Work in the kitchen one day a week to provide guidance, support, and maintain a hands-on approach to culinary operations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve overall performance.
Monthly Dinners:
- Plan and execute monthly special dinners or events, showcasing culinary skills and creativity.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Hiring in the Kitchen:
- Hire any additional back of house staff and create the schedule for back of house staff
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role.
- Food Manager's Card (or willingness to get one by time of first hire date)
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, and food safety standards.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Creative mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Schedule:
Part-time position, with flexible scheduling. Approximately 15-20 hours per week, including one day dedicated to kitchen work.
