Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or medical billing .
- Experience with healthcare billing or insurance claims strongly preferred.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License required.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong communication skills , both written and verbal.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities .
- Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Customer service orientation with a professional demeanor .
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office , especially Excel .
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and/or billing platforms is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Billing Manager in processing claims, addressing house rejections, and managing claim denials.
- Support resolution of insurance disputes, including working aging reports and preparing appeal letters when needed.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, following up on outstanding balances and rejected claims.
- Post charges and payments accurately into billing systems.
- Communicate and coordinate with insurance companies regarding billing issues and reimbursement challenges.
- Provide virtual client support for billing-related questions or concerns.
- Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets and internal documentation tools.
- Open and distribute incoming billing correspondence and mail.
- Ensure tasks are completed professionally and on time in accordance with department standards.
- Participate in regular team meetings to review department goals and performance metrics.
