Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 AM - 3 PM.
Job Summary:
FLACRA is seeking a dedicated and experienced Jail Program Manager to oversee behavioral health services provided within jail settings. This role provides day-to-day supervision, training, and operational guidance to Jail Counselors and ensures compliance with established contracts and clinical standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, familiarity with the behavioral health system, and a passion for serving justice-involved individuals.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Health or Human Services.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Qualified Health Professional (QHP) status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CASAC certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health/Human Services.
- Familiarity with community outreach, crisis response, and maintaining safety in the field.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
- Knowledge of local behavioral health systems and criminal justice programs.
- Proficiency in documentation and use of electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-responsibility environment.
- Calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily supervision, support, and leadership to jail-based counselors.
- Conduct regular observations and evaluations of staff performance in accordance with agency standards.
- Onboard and train all new jail counseling staff.
- Identify staff training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
- Ensure full understanding and execution of jail contracts, including protocol implementation and quality assurance.
- Collect and analyze data to ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director to identify best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain productive relationships with jail administration, referral sources, and external service providers.
- Represent FLACRA at community presentations and training events as needed.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to crisis and emergency situations to ensure client and staff safety.
- Ensure all documentation and reporting is completed in compliance with FLACRA and OASAS regulations and timelines.
- Model professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions with staff, clients, and partners.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
