Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist ensures that all services meet established regulatory and agency quality standards. The Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate with internal teams to develop policies, implement corrective actions, and enhance service delivery .
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Health, Human Services, or related field).
- 1-2 years of experience in direct care support within behavioral health or a related healthcare setting.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of OASAS, OMH, DOH, OMIG, HIPAA, CFR 42 regulations preferred.

Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Develop, review, and maintain policies and procedures to align with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Implement quality assurance protocols and track performance metrics.
- Conduct audits and internal evaluations to ensure compliance with agency and state requirements.
- Investigate client concerns, compliance issues, and incident reports to drive quality improvements.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance Team to manage incident reports and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor risk management activities related to clinical, financial, and environmental factors.
Data Collection & Reporting:
- Gather and analyze quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive reports to track program effectiveness and compliance levels.
- Assist in the development of scorecards and performance dashboards for leadership review.
Training & Support:
- Organize training sessions to educate staff on quality assurance standards and regulatory compliance.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to managers and employees on quality-related concerns.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting external audits from regulatory agencies.
- Participate in QA On-Call Rotation and provide on-site support as needed.
Other Duties:
- Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of incident management and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance efficiency and quality of service delivery.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (OASAS, OMH, DOH, OMIG, HIPAA, CFR 42).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in corrective action planning and implementation.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data management systems.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and respond to urgent issues when needed.
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required.
