Role: CNC Programmer - Mills and Lathes
Position Summary
As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs for the manufacturing of large, high-precision components. You will work with advanced multi-axis machining centers and lathes to develop efficient machining sequences for complex aerospace parts. Collaboration with planning and shop personnel is critical to ensure smooth production processes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and optimize 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers, as well as horizontal and vertical lathes (including Okuma 5-axis VTL and HMC).
- Develop and refine CNC tool paths to ensure precision and efficiency in the machining of large, complex components.
- Collaborate with planning and shop personnel to review and improve cycle times for both new and existing part programs.
- Update and revise CNC programs as needed, ensuring alignment with production needs and quality standards.
- Machine a variety of materials, including forged steel/alloys, aluminum, Inconel, and titanium.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues to minimize downtime and ensure production schedules are met.
- Experience in CNC programming for mills and lathes, preferably in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
- Mastercam experience
- Proficiency in programming multi-axis machining centers, including 5-axis capabilities.
- Familiarity with Okuma machines is a plus.
- Strong understanding of machining practices and tooling.
- Ability to work with a variety of materials, including steel, alloys, aluminum, and high-temp materials like Inconel and titanium.
