Job Description
The Diversity and Inclusion Community Engagement Specialist will manage community partnerships as outlined by the Assistant Director of Diversity & Inclusion and the CDIO. These partnerships will include, but are not limited to :
Community mentoring programs
Tutoring and other initiatives that connect our College students with youth in the community, such as RESET
Creating opportunities to receive and solicit student and community feedback
Maintaining a connection with the community to help Flagler College foster meaningful and reciprocal relationships as appropriate
Responsibilities
Recruiting
Training
Providing oversight to additional student volunteers to support any and all community partnerships
Comfortable working directly within the St. Augustine community
Able to maintain confidentiality
Comfortable engaging on social media
Serve on campus-wide and Student Affairs committees as needed.
Make recommendations to the Office of Diversity & Inclusion based on student and community feedback.
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
Currently enrolled at Flagler College
An understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Ability to understand the needs of students from diverse backgrounds
Ability to collaborate and build relationships with students, faculty, and staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements :
Duties will primarily take place in an office setting however additional duties may be performed in various locations on the Flagler College campus, including working both indoors and outdoors to support and participate in campus activities and events. This position may require occasional travel, by automobile or airplane, and overnight stay to travel to trainings and meetings off campus.
