Job Summary:
Flagstaff Equipment Company is seeking a Rental Sales Associate/Delivery Driver to join our rental division. This position is responsible for delivering and picking up rental equipment, assisting customers, and supporting yard operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and capable of handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery & Pickup:
- Transport non-CDL equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, tractors, reach and scissor lifts, backhoes) between customer sites and the rental yard.
- Follow scheduled routes, adhere to delivery timelines, and ensure timely service for both rental and service department customers.
Loading & Unloading:
- Safely load, secure, and unload equipment using proper procedures.
- Verify that equipment matches the delivery order and is in good working condition.
- Report any damages or issues to the Rental Manager immediately.
- Ensure outgoing equipment has a Ready to Rent tag, is thoroughly cleaned, and that machine hours are documented.
Vehicle & Equipment Inspections:
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
- Report any maintenance needs per the Flagstaff Equipment Co. Driver Compliance Agreement.
Chains & Binders Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain chains, binders, and securement tools to ensure compliance with DOT standards.
Customer Relations:
- Provide professional and friendly service to customers during deliveries and pickups.
- Address customer inquiries regarding equipment operation and rental processes.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Accurately complete delivery tickets, inspection reports, and all necessary paperwork.
- Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure safe and responsible vehicle operation.
Yard Support:
- Assist with equipment maintenance, yard organization, and cleaning when not on deliveries.
- Support overall rental operations by ensuring the yard remains organized and equipment is readily available for customers.
Rental Manager Support (As Needed):
- In the absence of the Rental Manager, assist with:
- Coordinating rental orders and dispatching equipment.
- Managing equipment inventory and availability.
- Responding to customer inquiries and assisting with rental needs.
- Ensuring smooth daily operations while balancing driving duties.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CDL preferred, but not required.
- Experience with equipment delivery, hauling, or a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate and transport heavy equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, secure loads, and work in outdoor conditions.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and basic mechanical skills are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
