What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator position at Fleet Clean New England?
About Us:
Fleet Clean New England provides on-site fleet washing services for commercial fleets, including garbage trucks, school buses, vans, and foodservice trailers. We operate across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, ensuring our clients maintain a professional image on the road. We are a hands-on, fast-paced, 7 day a week operation that values work ethic, leadership, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
We need a driven, take-charge Operations Coordinator who is ready to get their hands dirty, solve problems, and step up as a leader. This is not a sit-back-and-watch role—you’ll be in the middle of it all, coordinating operations, leading teams, handling challenges, and driving efficiency
The First 60 Days:
- Get in the trenches—work in the field alongside crews to understand our washing process.
- Learn fleet maintenance basics—get familiar with the equipment, trucks, and mechanics behind our operations.
- Understand logistics—how scheduling, dispatching, and job assignments impact efficiency.
- Build credibility—work side-by-side with the team before stepping into leadership.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Once you’ve completed your field training, you’ll transition into full operational leadership, including:
- Crew & Field Management: Lead and manage teams, maintain high-quality service, and hold employees accountable.
- Hands-on Support: Step in where needed—whether that means helping in the field, troubleshooting equipment, or handling urgent customer needs.
- Fleet, Warehouse & Equipment Oversight: Work with mechanic and drivers to ensure trucks and pressure washing equipment are maintained.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and implement operational efficiencies.
- Scheduling & Dispatching: Coordinate service appointments, ensure timely job completion, and optimize crew routes.
Who You Are:
- A problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments.
- Mechanically inclined (experience with trucks/equipment is a plus, but not required).
- Flexible and committed—able to work varied shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Physically capable of working outdoors, lifting up to 50lbs, and handling hands-on tasks.
- A leader who leads from experience, not from the office.
- · Highly organized and able to balance scheduling, fieldwork, and customer interactions.
- A career-minded individual—this is not just a job; it’s a stepping stone to a leadership role.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in operations, leading teams, logistics, dispatching, fleet maintenance, or similar roles is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
