Job Summary
Fleet Response is currently seeking qualified candidates to work at our corporate office, for the following position : Accounting Specialist 1 . This is an intermediate level accounting position which job responsibilities include but are not limited to : past due account collections, accounts receivable processing, accounts payable processing, client billing, vendor / client inquiries, invoice audit, and special accounting related projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes, but is not limited to, the following :
- Reviews open accounts for collection effort and initiates communication to collect past due amounts based on standard operating procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
- Communicate effectively with Sales, Senior Management and Client Engagement staff when necessary to accelerate the collections process.
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with clients, vendors and peers.
- Perform accurate audit and timely distribution of invoices for assigned clients including reconciliation with accounts receivable aging, processing credits and accounting for deposits.
- Accounts payable processing.
- Research and respond to client and vendor inquiries within 24 hours.
- Perform batch processing of AP and AR invoices. Processing should be timely and accurate.
- Assist with the documentation of accounting procedures and help identify areas of improvement.
- Cross train / backup other team members on various tasks.
- Achieve regular attendance and punctuality required as position requires teamwork, face-to-face interaction, work with on-site equipment, immediate and urgent response times, and specialized skill.
- Miscellaneous other tasks as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions : Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Sedentary work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
