The Elementary School Principal provides leadership to ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for students in grades K-4. This role involves executing duties assigned by the Superintendent, delegating tasks to staff, and overseeing daily school operations to ensure compliance with state and district policies. The Principal fosters effective communication within the school community and actively participates in districtwide planning and curriculum development, all while upholding and promoting the school’s mission.
- Valid PA Administrative Certificate as required by assignment.
- Three years of administrative experience in an educational setting, including staff management and the development of educational goals and initiatives, required.
- Understanding and knowledgeable in all phases of public school administration.
- Elementary experience preferred
- Must pass all background checks.
- Manage all school programs and operations, including the school office, curriculum development, budget preparation and implementation, pupil accounting, facilities maintenance, food services, and supply management.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, assigning duties, and orienting staff while fostering a collaborative work environment, supervising and evaluating instructional personnel, providing feedback, making staffing recommendations, and leading meetings to support the school’s mission and operations.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment by cultivating positive relationships among students, staff, and families.
- Support the Superintendent and staff in implementing Board policies and administrative procedures at the school.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions or concerns from professional and support staff, union representatives, public groups, governmental agencies, and the Board of School Directors.
- Exhibits strong leadership and expert knowledge in key areas, including basic education, special education, school law, public school administration, and government funding, addressing related issues and challenges.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to apply advanced problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to recognize and respect the confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to speak on demand to large groups of people.
