The Sales Consultant sells automobiles by understanding and demonstrating characteristics, capabilities, and features; developing and qualifying buyers; logging information; closing sales.

Responsibilities

• Understands current inventory by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models; inspecting automobiles.
• Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at community activities; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions.
• Qualify buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport.
• Demonstrate automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking drives; explaining warranties and services.
• Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; delivering automobiles.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and completing exams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required
• Previous car sales experience a plus
• Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
• Strong computer skills required
• 1 years' experience in retail sales preferred

Pay typically ranges from $30,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience, commitment, and ability to build rapport.
