The Role
As a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment that supports our operations.
You will be responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation of production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, adhering to strict cleaning procedures and safety protocols specific to a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of production areas, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Follow strict cleaning procedures and safety protocols specific to a manufacturing environment (including cleanroom or controlled environments as applicable).
- Handle waste disposal, recycling, and hazardous material cleanup in compliance with company policies.
- Operate and maintain custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other industrial cleaning machines.
- Restock supplies (soap, paper products, PPE, etc.) in designated areas.
- Support special projects such as deep cleans, plant shutdown preparations, and event setups.
- Assist with snow removal, exterior cleaning, and light landscaping tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or cleanroom environment.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and safely handle cleaning chemicals.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and hazard communication (HazCom), is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime if required.
