Controls Project Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering . This role offers an exciting opportunity to support active projects initially and then transition into project management responsibilities. You will lead controls engineering projects from kickoff to installation , which includes conducting project meetings , defining design criteria , and overseeing team management . Travel to customer sites for equipment installation , customer interaction , and on-site support is required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Design and oversee electrical control systems for new equipment in compliance with industry standards and engineering principles.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and critical path milestones.Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that hardware and software designs, as well as commissioning, are completed on time and within budget .Maintain and update task lists , generate reports, and track open items .Create and manage project design documentation and prepare customer deliverables .Ensure the controls engineering process is consistently tracked and adhered to throughout the lifecycle of the project.Program and troubleshoot PLC-based equipment .Program and troubleshoot HMI (Human Machine Interface) equipment.Provide technical support to customers and assist local tradespeople in troubleshooting equipment issues .Conduct end-user training on the proper operation of equipment.Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred; mechatronics degrees will also be considered.At least five years of experience as a Controls Engineer .In-depth knowledge of industry standards , including NEC / NFPA , OSHA , and ANSI .Strong background in electrical circuits , schematic reading , design , and troubleshooting .Experience with electrical CAD software , such as AutoCAD Electrical or ePLAN .Familiarity with programming languages like VB , C / C , or C# .Hands-on experience with Rockwell Logix 5000 family processors and Siemens S7-1500 family processors .Proficiency in PLC programming using ladder logic and structured text .Experience with HMI programming .Proficient in Microsoft applications , including Word and Excel .Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.Controls Engineer , electrical engineering , PLC programming , HMI programming , electrical control systems , industry standards , NEC / NFPA , OSHA , ANSI , project management , design criteria , cross-functional teams , hardware design , software design , commissioning , troubleshooting , electrical CAD software , AutoCAD Electrical , ePLAN , Rockwell Logix 5000 , Siemens S7-1500 , ladder logic , structured text , VB , C / C , C# , Microsoft Word , Microsoft Excel , customer deliverables , equipment installation , domestic travel , international travel
