  • Cost Estimation Engineer - Applications Engineer

The Applications Engineer / Estimator plays a vital role in generating job cost estimates and creating detailed quotes based on part assembly requirements and customer specifications . The position requires strong collaboration with Account Managers and vendors to ensure accurate quotations and layout concepts for machine assembly projects.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Process customer RFQs (Request for Quotes) by delivering pricing breakdowns and quotations to Account Managers.
  • Work with Account Managers and directly with customers to determine appropriate machine layouts and concepts for quoting.
  • Gather and analyze component pricing and vendor quotes to provide comprehensive cost assessments.
  • Provide detailed labor cost estimates and purchased material content for all quotations.
  • Address customer-specific pricing breakdowns as required for RFQs.
  • Manage and deliver follow-up information requested by Account Managers.
  • Maintain a detailed pricing reference guide for purchased components and materials.

    • Required Skills & Experience :

  • Strong technical knowledge of assembly machinery processes and industry-specific techniques.
  • Experience in powertrain assembly , axle assembly , and transmission assembly processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and / or SolidWorks for creating assembly line layouts and machine concepts .
  • Ability to design simple assembly line layouts and create visual machine concepts .
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with customers , vendors , and Account Managers .
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license .
