Travel Surgical Technologist Job Description
FlexCare Allied is seeking a travel surgical technologist to work on a temporary assignment in a hospital setting.
About the Job
This is an 8-hour shift, flexible schedule position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting surgeons during operations, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient safety.
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during operations, preparing instruments and equipment as needed.
- Maintain a sterile environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Prepare patients for surgery, positioning them correctly and ensuring their comfort.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any concerns to the surgeon or anesthesiologist.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth surgical procedures.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in surgical technology.
- Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- At least 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
