Position Description :
FlexGen is seeking a System Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025 as part of our Early Careers Program. The System Engineering Intern will learn about battery energy storage systems and assist technical leads to review electrical drawings, create network diagrams, and determine control requirements for projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams within FlexGen as well as joining external customer calls to support project progress. The intern will support developing projects that drive the energy transition and may also gain hands-on testing experience as they work with other teams to test battery and power converters in the lab.
Major Job Responsibilities :
- Assist a lead system engineer with project, research, and process tasks.
- Support the electrical, networking, and control design of a real-world energy storage system project to ensure the system meets site requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to gather requirements and provide technical support.
- Document engineering processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
- Participate in troubleshooting technical issues during the design and development phase of real-world projects.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in design for energy storage systems..
- Contribute to team meetings and discussions, providing insights and feedback on ongoing projects.
