Summary/Objective:
Flexible Concepts, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Controller. This key position encompasses responsibilities in accounting, human resources, and customer service. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial documentation, ensuring compliance with tax filing, AP/AR reconciliation activities, and train as a backup to the HR Manager for payroll processing. With proper qualification and performance, the individual in this role may become a candidate to assume a higher-level finance position within the organization in the future.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily working indoors in a manufacturing environment and office setting.
- Regular use of computers, printers, scanners, and phone.
- May sit/stand for 8 or more hours at a time.
- May experience exposure to noise, machinery, forklifts, metal shavings, and slick floors.
Essential Functions:
- Monthly closing support to CFO including bank and GL reconciliations to detailed subledgers
- Assist with variance analysis
- Assist with establishing a departmental budgeting system and reporting
- Posting cash receipts and performing the cash management function
- Reconcile expense reports and credit card statements
- Process Accounts Payable transactions and issue 1099 forms as needed
- File Sales/Use tax returns
- Learn, document, and develop ability to provide backup in several other functions encompassing invoicing, order entry, and payroll
- Actively participate and contribute to the Company’s conversion to a new ERP system in 2025

Supervisory Responsibility:
This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities upon hiring.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 25 pounds. The team member may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are Monday-Friday 7a-5p, with occasional flexibility in hours as needed.
Travel:
Infrequent local travel is required for this position.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ previous experience in an accounting function, 5 years’ strongly preferred.
- College degree in finance/accounting strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting, tax, and payroll principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Must be able to pass E-Verify and have security clearance for unclassified sensitive information.
