Belle Chasse, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant who will be pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, conducting detailed analysis, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. There is a goal for the role to grow into a management position overseeing payroll and other accounting staff.
Essential Duties:
- Analyze Accounting on Order Level: Review and analyze accounting transactions at the order level to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Month-End Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management review at month-end.
- Weekly Bank and Cash Flow Reporting: Monitor and report on cash flow activities, including weekly bank reconciliations and cash flow projections.
- Control of General Ledger (GL): Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Contribute to Bi-Yearly Field Exam and Year-End Audits: Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for external audits and field examinations.
- Verify Sales and Use Tax: Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales and use tax returns, including verification of tax calculations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
- A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
- Proactive and takes the initiative to identify and resolve accounting issues.
- Proficient in Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is essential.
- Patience and resilience to handle challenges and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a developing finance department.
- Experience with SAP B1, Paycor, and Avalara or similar accounting software/tools is considered a strong plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
