Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to support our financial operations. This role is responsible for processing daily customer invoices, managing payments, handling vendor disbursements, maintaining customer records, and resolving billing issues. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounting or bookkeeping, proficiency with financial systems and Excel, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. A background in ERP systems and a working knowledge of standard accounting principles are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process daily customer invoice billing and generate corresponding reports.
- Collect, record, and apply customer payments promptly and accurately.
- Handle daily bank deposits.
- Manage and track petty cash transactions.
- Process and review customer credit applications, ensuring proper documentation.
- Maintain and organize customer records for easy access and compliance.
- Research, track, and resolve customer billing discrepancies or issues.
- Handle disbursements to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Enter and verify new customer account information in financial systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with an ERP system or accounting software.
- Knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices.
