What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager for Manaufacturing Company position at Flextrude?
Safety Manager
Objective: To provide consistent safety and technical training that meets or exceeds OSHA
requirements and industry best practices, and to give greater reach to the safety program and
promotion of the company's safety culture.
In-depth equipment training:
Forklift (propane, electric stand-up, combi, etc.)
Aerial lift
Mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) / Scissor lift
Specialized equipment:
o Metal muncher/iron worker
o Hoist and crane
o Rigging
o Etc.
JHA creation/implementation/management of change:
Creating JHAs
Implement and audit/observe JHAs are being followed
Maintain JHAs as changes to equipment or processes happen
LMS/Online recordkeeping:
Implementation of learning management system through KPA program
Data management/recordkeeping including training records, incidents, etc.
Increase reach of safety program:
Intimately involved in New hire Orientation and Training
Set up and oversee weekly departmental safety meetings
Set up and Audit Plant wide inspections and observations
Setup and Manage Safety Training Inspections
Ensure required inspections (extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.) are done accurately and
on-time
Energy isolation program improvements:
Creating EIPs of each piece of equipment on site
Train, implement, and audit EIP and LOTO procedures
Develop MOC of EIPs
Environmental compliance:
Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste and recycling management
Responsible for setting up a system of Inspections, labelling, containment, and best practices to ensure EPA/DEP compliance
Mentor and Develop existing Safety Technician.
