We specialize in the repair and overhaul of commercial jet engine components for CFMI CFM56-ALL Series, GE CF6-80C, CF34-ALL Series, Rolls Royce RB211 and Pratt & Whitney PW4000. We also offer repair and overhaul services for industrial turbine components on the Pratt & Whitney GG4/FT4, and GG8/FT8 aero-derivative gas turbines. In addition, Flight Power Repair Group provides a wide range of specialized services for engines, aircraft and landing gear applications which include; Vacuum Heat Treat, Solution and Precipitation Heat Treat, Stress Relief, Shotpeening, Plasma Spray, Cleaning, Ultrasonic Inspection, FPI & FMPI, Welding, Machining, protective coating applications.
The Plasma Masker is responsible for preparing aerospace components for the plasma spray coating process by accurately masking designated areas to prevent coating applications. This role ensures compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards by carefully applying masking materials, inspecting parts, and collaborating with the plasma spray team to maintain high-quality results.
General Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine proper masking requirements.
· Apply tapes, plugs, stop-off lacquers, and other masking materials to protect areas not requiring plasma coating.
· Inspect and prepare parts prior to the masking process, ensuring surfaces are clean and free from contaminants.
· Work closely with plasma technicians and quality control teams to verify that masking meets engineering specifications.
· Remove masking materials after the coating process and inspect finished parts for quality and compliance.
· Maintain an organized workspace and ensure proper handling and storage of masking materials.
· Follow all safety procedures and company policies to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
· Document work performed and report any non-conformances or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
· Adapt to additional tasks or modifications to responsibilities as required by business needs.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· 1 years of experience in masking for plasma spray, painting, or similar manufacturing processes preferred.
· Experience in aerospace, aviation, or industrial coatings is a plus.
Working Conditions:
· Work is primarily performed in a repair shop or hangar environment.
· Requires standing, walking, and the ability to lift moderate weights (up to 50 pounds).
· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements:
· Strong attention to detail to ensure precise masking application.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical documents.
· Familiarity with aerospace components and masking techniques.
· Knowledge of various masking materials (tapes, plugs, shields, etc.) and their applications.
