SUMMARY OF POSITION
The dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility. They are responsible for coordinating the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel within the facility. The dispatcher must have excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and that production schedules are met.

WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Receive and review production tickets to determine the materials, equipment, and personnel needed for each job.
- Assign tasks to personnel, taking into consideration their skills and availability.
- Monitor the progress of jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including job assignments, and transportation schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, warehouse, and quality control, to resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Must be able to lift 50 LBS.
- This is a “safety sensitive” position.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment for extended periods of time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in a similar role is highly desirable. Previous experience as a dispatcher in a manufacturing or logistics environment is preferred, as it provides familiarity with the unique challenges and processes involved in coordinating operations within a manufacturing facility.
- Must have strong organizational skills to effectively coordinate the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel. They need to be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and maintain accurate records of dispatch activities.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for dispatchers. They must be able to effectively communicate with various departments within the facility. Clear and concise communication helps ensure that everyone involved understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills is important for dispatchers, as they often use dispatching software and inventory management systems to track materials, equipment, and personnel. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word, is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues or delays that may arise during the production process. They need to be able to think quickly and find solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Effective time management skills are crucial in ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner and production schedules are met.
- Work closely with other departments, such as production, warehouse, and quality control. The ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team is important for a dispatcher to coordinate operations smoothly.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
