POSITION OVERVIEW : This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring flooring materials and related products / services for our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the flooring industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Source and produce flooring materials such as hardwood, laminate, tile, carpet, and vinyl from supplies / vendors while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers / vendors to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about any industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments in the flooring sector.
- Analyze procurement requirements, evaluate supplier capabilities, and recommend appropriate sourcing strategies to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers to understand flooring requirements and specifications for each project.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers / vendors to optimize cost savings, minimize risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues or disputes, and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain a seamless supply chain.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and corresponding using procurement management software or other tools.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate procurement status, cost-savings, and performance metrics to management and other relevant stakeholders.
- State updated on relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in procurement, particularly as the pertain to the flooring industry.
