Summary
As an Analytical Lab Tech 1 at Flora Research Laboratories LLC, you will play a vital role in conducting tests and analyses that contribute to our mission of delivering accurate and timely laboratory services, working under the supervision of a mentoring Scientist or senior Technician. This position is essential for maintaining our reputation for excellence in the analytical field. Below is a summary of key job responsibilities and qualifications.
Responsibilities
· Comply with all Company policies, and follow established protocols and procedures for safety, quality, and performance of tasks, producing work results that pass quality control verification.
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses, following established protocols and procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare samples for testing, including weighing, compositing, extracting, etc., and prepare standards and solutions for use in the lab.
- Assist scientists in the development of new research methodologies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot experimental issues and improve processes.
- Accurately perform routine calibration checks, temperature verification, and other checks and monitoring activities.
- Perform shared housekeeping tasks including laboratory dishwashing and light janitorial as assigned.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment within scope of training.
- Perform other support functions as assigned.
- Document test results and all work performed meticulously, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
- Successfully participate in training sessions to increase skills and knowledge related to laboratory procedures and practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; BS in relevant scientific field or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting desirable but not required.
- Successful candidate will be able to multitask well in a high-throughput environment, be flexible to changing priorities, and keep faithful records.
- Must be able to read, understand and implement written protocols and procedures, and follow supervisory guidance. Legible handwriting a must.
- Job requires basic computer skills and proficiency in mathematical calculations relevant to laboratory work. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Office, Outlook, Excel) desired. Training will be provided in use of custom LIMS software (Laboratory Information Management System) suitable to job responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork for effective collaboration with coworkers.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
