Job Description
The Legal Records Clerk II performs a variety of processes which include preparing, processing, and maintaining court orders, legal records, and documents.
Essential Functions:
- Processes, certifies records, and mail/distributes all Court orders signed by Family Court Judges.
- Assists with court processes, performing duties such as appointing mediators and appointing attorneys for specific cases.
- Notifies petitioners and DSS of hearings.
- Processes, maintains, files, and distributes as appropriate all related legal records and documents.
- Maintains case files with accuracy, completeness and confidentiality.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties, to include filing, copying, processing, clocking and certifying documents and creating files.
- Receives, reviews, prepares, and/or submits various documents, including case files, court orders, schedules, petitions, complaints, pleadings, affidavits, warrants, notices, rosters, weekly reports, memos, correspondence.
- Answers a high volume of telephone calls.
- Interacts professionally with attorneys, defendants and the public.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Performs all other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Education and Work Experience
- Requires a high school diploma supplemented by one to two years of clerical/legal experience; or any equivalent combination of experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and experience.

- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 10 lb. objects regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must have the ability to travel up to 5%.
