Flores Food Truck & Catering is looking for a dedicated individual to help with the preparation, execution, and clean up of our catering events. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Catering Prep and Event Staff will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef in prepping all food ingredients and preparing and serving food to guests, along with post event clean up, at our catering events. Available hours to work each week are dependent upon the catering events that our team schedules. Each week will change, and there is never a guarantee of minimal weekly hours.
Please ONLY APPLY for this position of you have cooking experience and training. A culinary degree is a plus but not required.
Job Functions Include:
1. Responsible for production according to recipes/directions.
2. Cut and clean a variety of fruits, vegetables, and proteins using a knife and/or cutting machines.
3. Work on the food truck during catering events, and for prep and clean up.
4. Prepare and serve a variety of different types of cuisine.
5. Follows production sheets, portioning and merchandising details as instructed by the Sous Chef and Owner.
6. Follows all recipes and guidelines while meeting production deadlines.
7. Ensures consistent quality on all prepared items.
8. Tastes all food prepared for station to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality.
9. Maintains a clean and organized station and prep area, wash dishes, keep kitchen equipment clean, mop floors.
10. Maintains kitchen equipment.
11. Follows proper rotation and storage of goods.
12. Post event clean up, including dishwasher responsibilities.
13. Load and unload the truck in preparation for and clean up after catering events.
14. Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management.
15. Provide excellent customer service for each customer you are serving.
Skills
- Proven culinary experience
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Culinary degree or related certificate would be a plus
*Must have reliable transportation to get to and from job site.
