We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to legal standards and internal policies, thereby maintaining the integrity of our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks. The Compliance Officer will work closely with various departments to promote a culture of compliance and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Monitor changes in legislation related to financial services, including TILA, ACH, and Securities law, and update internal policies accordingly.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance issues, including corporate accounting practices and financial software usage.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure alignment with GAAP and technical accounting standards.
- Investigate compliance-related issues and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare reports for senior management detailing compliance activities and any identified risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in compliance roles within the banking or financial services industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, corporate accounting practices, public accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with relevant laws such as TILA, ACH regulations, and Securities law is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in financial software applications used for compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey compliance information across all levels of the organization.
