Position Summary
Our company has an immediate opening for a Grant and Organizational Compliance Officer . The grant and organizational compliance officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all regulations and guidelines associated with insurance requirements and renewals; government agency filings and reportings; as well as grant funding, monitoring the use of grant funds to guarantee they are utilized appropriately according to the terms of the grant agreement, and identifying potential compliance risks to maintain the organization's eligibility for future funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitoring dates and renewals for insurance;
- Monitoring dates and renewals for all government agency filings and renewals;
- Reviewing grant agreements :
Thoroughly analyzing grant contracts to understand specific compliance requirements, reporting deadlines, and allowable expenditures.
Performing regular reviews of grant-funded projects to verify adherence to grant terms, including proper documentation of expenditures, activities, and outcomes.
Ensuring accurate and timely reports to government agencies, insurance providers, and funders, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
Addressing any potential non-compliance concerns, conducting investigations as needed, and make recommendations for corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Educating staff members on grant compliance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure everyone understands their roles in maintaining compliance.
Properly documenting all grant-related activities, including approvals, expenditures, and communications with funders.
Keeping informed about changes in government agency and grant regulations and guidelines at the federal, state, and donor levels.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to interpret complex grant guidelines, identify potential risks, and analyze financial data.
High level of accuracy in reviewing documents, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Clear and concise communication with internal staff, grantors, and auditors.
Understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data related to government agency and grant projects.
Ability to organize and manage multiple duties and grant projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Education & Experience
At least five years demonstrable prior experience in grant and organizational administrative compliance and monitoring, or auditing.
