Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Director, Research Program/Services vacancy. This position is a 100% Extension position and responsible to the Director, Cooperative Extension. The position provides administrative direction, coordination and the control of activities including the day-to-day oversight of support and administrative staff on campus and at satellite locations for Cooperative Extension.
Responsibilities
Coordinates/monitors budget activities pertaining to Cooperative Extension and all related projects, including tracking of expenditures, encumbrances, amendments, personnel, payments and program income; Prepares budget amendments, payroll and other accounting adjustments, journal entries, cost center reports and any other documents as needed in the management of funds; Directs and manages personnel functions, including requests to advertise, onboarding, faculty recommendations, AORs, staff and OPS employment actions; maintains files and/or copies of personnel action requests; Directs and manages procurement functions, including managing the procurement process from requisition to payment and coordination with purchasing, accounts payable and vendors as needed; work with suppliers, vendors, consultants, sub-contract awardees, etc. to set up contracts for payment of services; Directs and manages travel functions, including initiate and process all paperwork related to travel and travel reimbursements; maintain file/copy of all approved travel and reimbursement requests; Assists with administrative direction and management of Extension activities, including the day-today supervision of support and administrative staff on-campus and satellite locations of the Extension program; This includes conducting meetings, facilitating training and evaluation for professional development; Advise and assist in the reporting of programming and activities while serving as a college site administrator for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) reporting portals; Provides direct administrative support to selected extension program teams, including data collection and reporting and grants management; Provides administrative direction/coordination for special events, programs and activities; and, other assignments deemed necessary and appropriate for the administration of Extension Program and directed by Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience.

Ability to interpret and recommend policy;
Ability to prepare, analyze and administer budgets;
Experience in grants management;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Advanced knowledge of federal program funding, policies and regulations; and,

Pay Plan
This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
