Position Description

The technology program coordinator serves as the primary point of contact between IIR's National Ashanti Alert Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Program under the Center for Victim Services and Support and IIR's Information Technology (IT) team to ensure continued development and maintenance of the National Ashanti Alert Network (Network) and other programmatic applications. This position will also serve as a liaison with federal, state, tribal, and territorial partners working to enhance a current missing person program and/or participate in the Network. This position must possess strong communication, collaboration, and technical acumen to effectively communicate technical updates and progress to key stakeholders, including the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the National Ashanti Alert Stakeholder Working Group (SWG), and pilot/participant sites. This position must consistently articulate the program's mission and promotional messages to create the best possible product and experience for stakeholders while meeting the needs and expectations of the client. In addition, this role will be tasked with communicating the product vision and strategy and aligning it with the objectives of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate efforts among the National Ashanti Alert TTA Program and the IIR IT team to maintain, enhance, and expand the Network features and functionality, manage and refresh content, enhance the overall user experience, and test products
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the field regarding all Network updates and changes and work with IIR IT to incorporate these requests
  • Receive and troubleshoot Network-related inquiries from the National Ashanti Alert SWG members and participating sites and work with the IIR IT team to resolve issues
  • Coordinate training and onboarding of pilot project states, tribes, and territories to use the Network; develop supporting materials to aid training and site onboarding
  • Travel to pilot and future participant states, territories, and tribes to train pilot sites, when necessary, on the Network and to identify lessons learned and promising practices
  • Train and update new SWG members on the Network and/or any new or emerging technical components of the program
  • In collaboration with the program staff, clients, and stakeholders, develop a national Network implementation plan, identify additional Network partners and users, and expand usage on a national scale
  • Support the development of public website content and liaison with BJA's technology and communications staff to coordinate website updates
  • Support the Network's content management, such as stakeholder collaboration and resource library
  • Present at conferences and events, when appropriate
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the team, articulating the vision and future expansion of the Network
  • Collaborate and/or coordinate with subject-matter experts, alert coordinators, and law enforcement officers to gather information with the goal of producing effective and useful technical products for the field
  • Review program content for uniformity, clarity, logo usage, and proper disclaimer usage
  • Measure public website and Network usage and engagement rates of communication
  • Provide updates, as requested, to leadership and BJA regarding Network engagement and new developments
  • Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, IT, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of directly related experience creating and developing technical strategies and managing nationwide technology solutions or a combination of education and professional experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen to interact with many different departments and decision-makers within and outside the organization, including state, tribal, territorial, and federal partners; subject-matter experts; practitioners; and law enforcement officers
  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Strong personal and professional values
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks

  • Knowledge of criminal justice information sharing systems, training and technical assistance, and/or missing person programs preferred
