Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Associate Director, Student Affairs Administration. - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Directs the general office operation for the Vice President for Student Affairs suite including the supervision of full-time and student staff. Takes minutes for all Vice President led meetings, ensuring that an historical record is kept, and that staff follow through on assignments.
- Assists in professionally resolving problems and inquiries from a wide range of internal and external constituents (students, families, other university departments, etc.)
- Serve as liaison between Deans, Directors and other departments to gather information to appropriately respond to student issues/concerns reaching the Vice President of Student Affairs.
- Oversees all Human Resources functions within the Division of Student Affairs. Serves as the primary point person to the Department of Human Resources on all personnel matters. Administers all selection processes for professional staff within Student Affairs including recruitment, campus interviews, and hiring.
- Coordinates monthly meetings and training for HR partners within the division ensuring that all university and divisional policies, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Processes tuition fee waivers (as applicable) for student leaders/ employees. Provide reports to the Vice President on HR matters within the Division.
- Works with the FAU Career Center and divisional HR Partners to ensure that student staff training is aligned with divisional priorities.
- Works with student affairs leadership on professional development planning and staff success initiatives.
- Helps to arrange, coordinate, and support select Student Affairs projects, programs, and events (reservation of rooms, communicating with various FAU departments and outside vendors, internal communication with the event organizer(s).
- In coordination with the Vice President, manages various administrative responsibilities needed to achieve divisional goals. This may include, but not be limited to, coordinating travel related activities for the Vice President and Associate/Assistant Vice Presidents and other financial processes.
- Perform other job related duties assigned.
