What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal) position at Florida Children's Museum?
TITLE: Camp Counselor
REPORTS TO: Assigned Lead Teacher, in absence, CLO
GENERAL: The Camp Counselor assists Lead Camp Teachers with the delivery of educational programs and helps ensure the safety of all campers. The ideal Camp Counselor has experience working with young children and has a track record of engaging students in meaningful conversations that help them explore the world around them. This is a seasonal position, up to 40 hours a week, and paid by the hour.
PRIMARY DUTIES
· Assist Lead Camp Teacher in delivering lessons and leading campers in play
· Help supervise walking field trips in Bonnet Springs Park
· Ensure the safety of campers while playing in the Museum exhibits
· Assist in supervising meal times
· Promote healthy learning environments
· Provide a nurturing environment for all campers
· Prior experience in a camp or school setting in a support role
· Experience working with ages 4-10 preferred
· Passion for hands-on learning & exploration
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
