What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Florida Energy Water & Air?
Reporting to the CFO, the senior accountant will work to ensure accurate financials while maintaining close and reporting timelines. Financial statement accuracy and the stewardship of the company’s assets are critical to this function as the business works to grow. This role requires a detail-oriented individual that can drive accuracy and consistency in our accounting processes.
This role will be essential to our company’s growth as we refine our operations and reporting processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- Understands and works within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Demonstrates strong technical accounting skills
- Minimum of 3 years in an accounting role with responsibility for journal entries and close processes
- Strong Excel data analysis skills, including text formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with QuickBooks online or similar ERP system
Responsibilities
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
- Complete month-end and year-end close
- Prepare documentation for External Auditors
- Weekly Cash Management reporting
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
