Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the construction industry. Duties
- Lead and manage the estimating team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of bids for construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for efficient takeoffs and cost calculations.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions that may affect project costs.
- Build strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
- Monitor market trends and pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness in bids.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior estimators within the team.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction management or construction estimating is essential.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and challenges is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy in pricing estimates.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
