Housing & Loan Specialist

Responsibilities

• Recruit applicants by giving presentations explaining the housing program and the benefits of homeownership counseling.
• Provide Pre-Purchase housing counseling services to prepare participants for homeownership.
• Provide Post-Purchase housing counseling services to existing homeowners Stay current with affordable housing funding programs and their requirements/guidelines, especially USDA, HUD, HOP, and County DPA.
• Evaluate applicants’ financial and credit information; determine eligibility and sourcing for a mortgage USDA loan and down payment assistance.
• Process and submit loan applications for primary loans, such as USDA or other sources, by following lender’s regulations and Fair Housing guidelines.
• Prepare and submit down payment assistance applications, such as County DPA or State HOP Funds, by following programs’ regulations and Fair Housing guidelines. Prepare participants for closing, including DPA approval(s), and gathering insurance quotes and draw/disbursement schedules.
• Ensure applicants complete housing counseling sessions. Perform quality and accuracy control reviews on all processed documents.
• Provide administrative assistance and data entry into the Client Management System (CMS) Provide administrative assistance in the office, as needed.

Additional Information:

• Must be flexible, open-minded, and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team, in person or remotely, is essential.
• Regular late working days required (at least once a week or monthly) and potential Saturday or evening work.
• Bilingual, a plus
