Performs Case Management activities to assure necessity of patient admissions and appropriateness of continued stay; monitors length of stay and collaborates with Medical Staff to ensure appropriateness of care. Assures that the facility provides high quality, cost effective medical care / service to its patients. Supervises the activities of Case Managers. Maintains confidential communication with physicians and multi-disciplinary personnel. Assures collaboration between quality resource / outcomes management functions / social services functions. Participates in the department's planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education and human resource activities.
