Duties
As a MAINTENANCE TEST PILOT (TITLE 32), GS-2181-12, you will perform maintenance test flights of rotary wing aircraft to determine that the airframe, power plant and power train, subsystems accessories, and other auxiliary equipment are functioning in accordance with current US Army publications, policies and predetermined requirements in the intended operational environment for the purpose of certifying the airworthiness of the complete aircraft. Conduct final test flights prior to the release of the aircraft for operational use after modification or repairs to include component changes such as engines repairs, transmissions rotor blades, wings, and avionics modification packages performed by the Aviation maintenance activity. Test avionics modification and equipment packages for in-flight reliability, proper operation and accuracy for use in critical or actual instrument conditions to complete approaches to a safe landing.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.
FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Warrant Officer; CW2 thru CW4.
Note 1: Applicants must submit a DA Form 759 to be considered for the position; MUST show Maintenance Test Pilot Certification.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Must have at least 24 months experience and training as a pilot in the unit equipped aircraft (UH-60). Experience flying aircraft during varying conditions and circumstances to include day, night, and night vision goggles (NVG). Must have a minimum of 100 hours pilot-in-command (PC) and/or maintenance test pilot (MP) time (can be combined). Experience and proficiency in the planning and execution of general support aviation battalion (GSAB) missions and air movement/air assault missions. Experience demonstrating in-depth knowledge of flight safety regulations, practices, procedures, and submission of safety reports.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
