Meter Reader
Location: Marianna, FL
Job Responsibilities
- Perform meter reading which meets standards set for accurate reading of meters
- Ensures proper handling of ITRON meter reading units and return units to the department to upload and download gathered data for back office to process as required
- Assist in re-routing of meters routes as required
- Assist in working periodic meter orders and Customer Service Requests as needed
- Assist in meter shop with meter maintenance as required
- Work with line department as required
- Safety
- Completion of first aid and safety courses as offered
- Application of first aid and rescue operations
- Completion of work-related forms such as time/transportation reports, etc.
- Customer/Public relations
- Special assignments as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required
- Must have ability to walk for extended periods
- Must be able to drive safely while making frequent stops
- Must be able to work with electronic equipment
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Must be able to accurately read meters and input data
- Strong interpersonal communication, organizational skills and problem-solving skills are required
- Requires good physical condition for substantial standing and walking in all types of weather conditions
- Limited travel may be necessary
- Computer proficiency including Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred
