What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Foreman position at Florida Repertory Theatre?
We seek a talented individual who can oversee and execute quality set builds and uphold the high standards expected from our audience for our production department at Florida Repertory Theatre.
About the Role: The Shop Foreman helps support every production by facilitating the oversite of all shop work and maintains a clean, safe, and professional environment. The duties of the Shop Foreman include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead builds and special projects
- Maintain all shop equipment
- Keep a running inventory of all shop goods
- Overseeing team compliance for all safety standards
- Reviewing breakdowns and working with the TD on all build projects
- Scheduling the shop teams’ builds and completing builds on schedule in adherence to the production schedule
- Other duties as assigned
About You: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Carpentry
- Welding
- Problem-solve under pressure
- Manual dexterity and ability to work at heights over 20’ (able to lift to 50lbs)
- Skills with:
- CNC Programming
- Vectorworks
- Automation builds (turn tables) preferred
- Power tools
About the Position: Work Hours/ Salary
- Year round; 35 to 75 hours a week, averaging 40 hours a week for the year
- $900 a week salary
- Two weeks of PTO
- Health Insurance Option
- Supplemented housing may be available based on the availability
