Vertex Applied Innovation Hub is Florida Tech’s industry-facing innovation center, located five miles south of the main campus in Palm Bay. Housed in a 100,000 sq. ft. facility (formerly known as the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design (CAMID)) with advanced technology and infrastructure, Vertex focuses on external engagement, primarily with industry. The Lab Manager for Vertex will oversee the daily operations of the facility’s labs, ensuring seamless functionality of equipment and infrastructure to support research, development, and project delivery for both internal teams and external partners. This role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialized equipment including 3D printers, microelectronics tools, advanced visualization systems, and machine shop resources, while enforcing compliance with safety standards and protocols.
The Lab Manager will also manage inventory by tracking equipment usage and consumables, facilitate demonstrations and tours, and provide technical support and training to a diverse range of lab users. A strong technical background in advanced manufacturing is preferred, along with problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. The ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project needs is essential. The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information and impose certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2024 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures, descriptions of prevention and awareness programs, related university procedures and important guidance, and other essential safety information.
