The Technical Sales Representative draws on practical knowledge of steam and hot water utilities to provide customers with the best solution available for the application. Summary/Objective: Maintain a customer base of key accounts that generate recurring sales to achieve the annual sales plan for the territory. Essential Functions: Build relationships with design engineers, mechanical contractors and end users. Majority of time meeting directly on-site with customers. Developing opportunities by identifying solutions to solve customer needs. Promoting solutions of key manufacturers that we represent. Maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) data including daily activities. Competencies: Sense of urgency:  Awareness in responding to internal and external constituents in a timely manner. Problem solving: Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems. Interpersonal skills:  Relates well to all people inside and outside the organization; builds appropriate rapport, develops constructive and effective relationships, uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse high-tension situations comfortably. Perseverance:  Pursues everything with energy, drive and need to finish; does not give up before finishing, especially in the face of resistance or setbacks. Planning:  Prioritizes tasks, manages time effectively and highly productive. Technical learning:  Has desire to learn new industries, products and technical knowledge. IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school and / or three years of sales experience in mechanical field. Experience with steam and hot water systems. Ambitious ‘hunter’ sales personality. Mechanical aptitude and / or practical knowledge of pipe, valves and fittings. Computer skills including Microsoft Office. Able to work both independently and in a team environment. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Technical training provided by company during work hours. This position is home based, must live within sales territory.

Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
