Job Title : Estimator
Major Job Responsibilities :
Location :
Office is based in Summit, NJ but projects are across the New York Metro area including New York City, Westchester County and Connecticut.
Job Summary :
The Estimator is responsible for cost calculations to determine how much it will cost to complete a project or provide buyout for a new scope of work and changes to contracted work. Flower Construction is a high end custom RESIDENTIAL builder with projects that include technically challenging pre-war co-ops and townhouses in New York City alongside multi-structured ground up estates, historical preservation and renovation projects.
Perform takeoffs from architectural drawings and specifications
Generate thorough descriptions of materials and fabrications for RFP’s
Generate RFI’s to Design Team
Generate and follow up on RFI’s and RFP’s using Procore project management software.
Prepare, review, and bid-level supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing
Create estimates in excel
Deliver estimates and proposals on time, with supporting documentation
Collaborate with project teams as needed throughout estimating process
Other Responsibilities :
Complete online training and refresher courses as needed.
Attend Company level meetings as requested
Requirements :
Minimum of 4-year college degree preferably in Construction Management, Architectural, or Design.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high-end residential construction estimating
Technical skills to include : Microsoft Project, Procore, Microsoft Excel, OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam
