As a Solutions Engineer / Sales Development Representative, you will drive business-to-business (B2B) sales, targeting engineers and architects who specify security solutions for commercial and municipal projects. This role requires a proactive, “hunter” mentality to develop new opportunities, build relationships, and close sales. You will have access to pre-sales engineers to assist in securing and finalizing deals.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the engineering and architectural sectors specific to electronic security and radio communications.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in key verticals of manufacturing, retail, commercial real estate, healthcare, government, hospitality, critical infrastructure, utilities, and education (higher education and K-12).
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to position Flower City Communications as a preferred security solutions provider.
- Prospect, cold call, and close deals with new and existing accounts.
- Communicate the benefits of security products, services, and solutions to meet customer needs.
- Work closely with pre-sales engineers to design and present technical solutions.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and advancements in security technology.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and customer interactions in a CRM system.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and business objectives.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in security, telecommunications, or technology solutions.
- Proven track record of prospecting, cold calling, and successfully closing new business.
- Strong ability to engage with technical buyers, including engineers and architects.
- Familiarity with security systems, including surveillance cameras, door access controls, and distributed antenna systems, is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, high-energy, and results-driven with a hunter sales mentality.
- Proficiency in CRM software and ability to manage sales processes efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
