Engaging and Supportive Special-Needs Nanny Needed for a Sweet and Active 13-Year-Old in Baldwinsville, NY!
Age of Child: 13 years old
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Flexible, part-time schedule. Primarily after-school hours and weekends 20-30 hours per week
Compensation: $22-30/h

This loving and dedicated mother is seeking a kind, energetic, and engaging nanny to provide after-school and occasional weekend care for her 13-year-old son. He is autistic and mostly non-verbal but communicates well through his iPad device. He is independent with daily tasks, and enjoys outdoor activities, video games, and Disney movies! The family values structured engagement and learning, and they would love a caregiver who will incorporate educational activities throughout the day using the child’s Microsoft touchpad/laptop and various learning apps.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with neurodivergent children, particularly with knowledge or experience working in special education or occupational therapy. The family hopes to find a provider who can establish a long-lasting relationship with their son, and someone who understands how to meaningfully engage with a non-verbal child.
Responsibilities include school pickups, engaging the 13-year-old in activities like going for walks, playground visits, and scooter rides, as well as occasional transportation to sports and activities like soccer and flag football. The nanny will also provide light meal prep (he enjoys foods like chicken fingers and French fries) and help keep him active with swimming, arts and crafts, and games. During the summer, there will be the opportunity to travel with the family if desired!
This family has a sweet 75lb Bernedoodle and a cat, so comfort with pets is necessary. Their home environment is warm and welcoming, and they are looking for a nanny who is proactive, patient, and excited to build a strong connection with their child. Requirements:
2 years of professional childcare experience
CPR/First Aid certified
Experience working with neurodivergent children
